This Program Is Built for Couples Who Want More Than a Checklist

A lot of premarital programs are generic workbooks or one-size-fits-all courses. This is different. You work one-on-one with a licensed therapist who gets to know you as a couple and helps you build real skills for your specific relationship.

✓

You're engaged or planning to get married

And you want to start your marriage with a strong foundation, not just hope for the best.

✓

You want real skills, not just conversation

You want to learn how to handle disagreements, talk about money, and build shared expectations.

✓

You want a personalized approach

Not a group class. Not a video course. A licensed therapist working with the two of you, focused on your relationship.

✓

You want something evidence-based and secular

Our approach is grounded in clinical research, not religious curriculum. All beliefs and backgrounds are welcome.

Five Sessions That Give You a Real Head Start

Most couples don't think about how they handle conflict until they're in the middle of one. This program surfaces the patterns early, so you can build healthier habits before they become entrenched.

  • ✓ A clear picture of your relationship's strengths and growth areas, based on the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment
  • ✓ Communication skills you'll actually use, not just talk about
  • ✓ A shared understanding of how you each approach conflict, finances, family, and intimacy
  • ✓ Strategies for navigating disagreements without damaging the relationship
  • ✓ Confidence that you're starting your marriage with open eyes and shared expectations

A Simple, Structured Process

The program takes about five weeks. All sessions are online, 50 minutes each, and scheduled at times that work for both of you. Day and evening appointments are available Monday through Thursday.

1

Get-to-Know-You Session

Your therapist learns about your relationship, your backgrounds, and what brought you to counseling. You'll receive instructions on how to complete the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment.

2

Take the Assessment

Each of you independently completes the PREPARE/ENRICH couples assessment, covering 30+ relationship topics. Your therapist uses the results to create a roadmap for your remaining sessions.

3

Four Working Sessions

Together with your therapist, you work through the areas where your perspectives differ. You'll practice real communication and conflict skills tailored to your specific dynamics.

4

Start Your Marriage Ready

You walk into your marriage knowing how to talk, how to listen, and how to navigate the inevitable tough conversations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PREPARE/ENRICH?
PREPARE/ENRICH is the most widely used and research-validated couples assessment in the world. It covers over 30 relationship areas including communication, conflict resolution, finances, personality, family of origin, and relationship expectations. Research shows couples who take the assessment and discuss the results with a trained facilitator build stronger, more satisfying relationships. Your therapist is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator.
Is this a religious program?
No. Our approach is evidence-based and non-religious. The PREPARE/ENRICH assessment does include questions about personal values and beliefs as part of understanding your compatibility, but the program itself is not affiliated with any religious tradition. We welcome all backgrounds and beliefs.
How much does premarital counseling cost?
Each 50-minute session is $120. The PREPARE/ENRICH assessment is a separate $35 fee. You can pay with credit card or debit card. Premarital counseling is typically not covered by insurance.
What times are sessions available?
Appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 10am to 7pm, so you can find a time that works around your schedule. All sessions are online via secure video, so there's no commute.
How quickly can we start?
We can typically schedule your first session within 48 hours of your inquiry. After you reach out, a therapist will email you with some available timeslots and links to paperwork you'll need to complete.
Will we work with the same therapist for all sessions?
Yes. You'll work with the same therapist throughout the entire program. Part of the value of the initial session is building a rapport that carries through the working sessions.
What if one of us is skeptical about counseling?
That's common, and completely fine! This isn't about fixing something that's broken. Think of it as a structured way to learn about each other's perspectives on the things that matter most in a marriage: how you handle conflict, money, family, and big decisions. Most skeptical partners are glad they participated.
How is this different from an online course or app?
Online courses and apps are generic by design. They can't see the dynamic between the two of you, notice where you're talking past each other, or adapt to what your relationship actually needs. Working with a licensed therapist means someone trained in relationship dynamics is guiding you through your specific patterns. It's the difference between watching a video about swimming and having a one-on-one coach in the pool with you.
